WHAT TO DO IN
SASKATOON APRIL 2016
When our
guests first check into the Park Town Hotel, one of the first questions that
often pops into to their mind is “What is there to do in Saskatoon”? Our guests are looking for fun filled events
that can range from family friendly outings to nightlife events such as
concerts, theatre performances, and festivals. The presence of leisure
activities has continued to blossom in Saskatoon, making it the perfect
destination for anyone looking to just get away. Being the awesome people we
are, we’ve compiled the Ultimate Guide to Saskatoon for April of 2016.
We may not
be Toronto of Vancouver, but Saskatoon is home to a lot of great sporting
events. From Lacrosse to curling we will always have an event for you. This
April is chock-full of some awesome events that are all just outside our back
door.
SPORTS
Curling has
long been a great Saskatchewan past time, and you know it’s a Canadian
favourite because even when you’re inside you’re still on the ice. Popular in
even the smallest of hometowns, Saskatchewan has seen many great successes in
this sport. Make sure you take advantage of one of our hometown traditions by
visiting the Mixed Doubles Curling Championship from March 31 – April 3 at the
Nutana Curling Club! This is a family friendly event and will be sure to
capture the attention of even the most novice fans.
Some people
may need a more energetic sport to cheer for…one with lots of sound and lights,
movement and contact. We get it. Lucky
for you, Saskatoon is home to the Saskatchewan Rush, Saskatchewan’s newest
professional Lacrosse team. With the first-ever season coming to an end, make
sure you get your tickets ASAP as the last few matches will be sure to sell
out. These games are great for all ages and are sure to not disappoint! To book your tickets now go to www.saskrush.com and book your tickets to
either of the next games on April 2 or April 16. The next game is against the
Calgary Roughnecks, so you’ll be sure to feel our provincial feud at its best!
ARTS AND ENTERTAINMENT
Just a spoon
full of sugar makes the medicine go down! If you know where that’s from then
you’re not going to want to miss a second of the Persephone Theatre’s presentation
of Mary Poppins! This delightful retelling of the famed classic hits the stage
from April 20 – May 15th. Get your tickets now at www.persephonetheatre.org Don’t forget to save your ticket stubs after
the show, because they get you extra discounts in the hotel at our Four Seasons
Restaurant.
Theatre not quite up your alley? Well we know what
is…that’s right… The Price is Right is coming to Saskatoon on April 19th! Ever
dreamt of hearing those famous words “Come on Down!?” Well this could be your
chance to make your dreams a reality. It’s been here before and it’s back by
popular demand. Start making your cheesy
t-shirts now and book tickets at www.tcuplace.com
Craving a little culture? Perhaps a little Caribbean
on the prairies? Well PASSA PASSA is back April 22nd at O’Brians
Event Centre. This Dance Hall inspired event will make you feel like you’re in
a beach club in Jamaica. Complete with authentic Caribbean food and music,
Passa Passa is an event you won’t want to miss if you’re looking to let your
inner Rhianna loose. For more information on Passa Passa and other events visit

TOURS
Ever wonder how something’s made? Or are looking for a
different sort of experience? Tours are the newest trend and luckily Saskatoon
is home to the headquarters of the Lucky Bastard Distillery. After the owner
won the Lottery (twice), he went on to open Lucky Bastard Distillery and created
Lucky Bastard Vodka. From there, the sky was the limit. In their completely new
and renovated location you’ll have the opportunity to watch them make your new
favourite spirits and even do a tasting! You’ll lose your breath when you walk
in when you see just how beautiful it is. If you’re picturing dirty floors and
dirty pipes, you’ll be sorely disappointed… this venue is absolutely stunning! For information on booking a tour please
